The Secret Behind LET-LOK®
LET-LOK® tube connectors are made-to-order when it comes to ease-of-use. Assembly is extremely simple and requires merely placing the tube into the complete assembly until it bottoms-out against the fitting body. Next, the two ferrules are driven forward between the nut and the fitting body. The very mechanical force created by revolving the nut from left to right drives the ferrules forward.
The back ferrule is then pushed against the tapered rear of the front ferrule, while the front ferrule is driven by force it into the body’s tapered mouth. The back ferrule is radially swaged inwards on the tube, while lifting the front ferrule out to form a thorough, leak-tight seal on the tapered body’s surface. Afterwards, the 11/4 and 3/4 turn (depending on the sizes) of the nut from the hand-tight position, assures a dependable drive of the sealing parts. This also guarantees a vigorous seal against ultra-high vacuum and high-pressure environments.
